Overview:
Okta is a cloud-based identity and access management service used by the City of Hayward to connect users with applications in a safe way. This article goes over how to update your different authentication methods.
Instructions:
- Go to https://myaccess.hayward-ca.gov/
- Sign in with your City of Hayward username, the same username that you use to sign into your City of Hayward PC.

- If you do not already have at least one additional authentication factor enrolled, you will be prompted to enroll a new factor. If you already have at least one additional factor, you will be prompted to use one.

- Once you are signed into Okta, click your name in the top-right corner of the window, then click Settings.

-
In the ‘Security Methods’ section, click Set up to add a new factor or Remove to remove a factor. If you remove all existing factors from your account, you will be required to enroll a new factor the next time you log in to Okta.
You will be prompted to reauthenticate each time you remove or add an MFA factor.
Note that the ‘Phone’ method will be removed from the City of Hayward Okta system in the near future. Please ensure that you have at least one other factor setup.
